The deceased of the I-84 West Hartford incident on 12/09/2025 has been identified as Haneef McKnight (DOB 05/14/1997) of Philadelphia, PA. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Preliminary investigation determined that on November 19, 2025, at approximately 6:24 a.m., for unknown reasons, a pedestrian was within the right travel lane of Interstate 95 North, prior to exit 6, in the City of Stamford. On October 5, 2025, at approximately 2:38pm, personnel from Troop C responded to Mansfield Hollow Lake after the Mansfield Fire Department discovered human remains floating in the water. Fire personnel recovered the remains onto a department boat. The Eastern District Major Crime Squad (EDMC) was notified and assumed the investigation.
