The Connecticut State Police, in collaboration with the Connecticut State Legislature and the Connecticut Department of Transportation is pleased to announce the Trooper Irving Nelson Memorial Roadway dedication ceremony. Trooper Irving H. Nelson was killed in the line of duty on April 6, 1928. Recognizing that there was no roadway memorial to commemorate Trooper Nelson's sacrifice, Troop D personnel began this project in the Spring of 2024 with assistance from the 50th Distr

On 10/21/25 at approximately 6:47pm, a residential structure fire was reported at 441 Warrenville Road in Mansfield, which resulted in one fatality. The deceased was identified as Carol Dauphin (DOB: 10/28/45) of Mansfield, who was transported to an area hospital and pronounced later the same day. The Mansfield Deputy Fire Chief, Kevin Danielson, sustained burns while performing rescue efforts at the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed
