Vehicles damaged by gunfire on I-91 in Middletown

On Monday, September 13, 2021, at approximately 10 a.m., operators of two vehicles stopped at two separate locations – State Police Headquarters in Middletown and East Main Street in Meriden – to report that their vehicles had just been damaged while traveling on Interstate 91 south near exit 20 in Middletown. Further investigation revealed the vehicles were damaged by gunfire. The operator of one vehicle suffered a minor laceration from broken glass caused by the gunfire. Bullet strikes were located on both vehicles. Any witnesses to this incident are asked to call Trooper Poirier #875 at Troop H at 860-534-1000. All calls will remain confidential.
