Troopers Investigate Suspicious Deaths in Oxford

On 05/30/2024, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Troop A – Southbury was advised of a vehicle fire on Roosevelt Drive (Route 34) in Oxford. The local fire department was also dispatched. Upon arrival on scene, a vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by FD personnel, at which point it was discovered that there were two deceased persons within the vehicle.


The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was notified and responded to the scene. The OCME has taken custody of the decedents for post-mortem examinations. Due to the nature of this incident, the identities of the victims is pending further investigation.


This investigation is ongoing, and has been assumed by Western District Major Crime Detectives.
