Teen Arrested for Manslaughter Following April 2024 Fatal Collision Investigation

On Thursday, 4/17/2025 at approximately 2:10pm, an 18-year-old teen turned himself into State Police Troop I in Bethany on the strength of an active arrest warrant. The arrest warrant was issued in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on April 10, 2024, when the suspect was 17 years old. The crash resulted in fatal injuries to the teen's passenger.
The teen was arrested and escorted to the processing area where he was charged with the following violations of the Connecticut General Statutes (C.G.S.):
53a-56b - Manslaughter 2nd Degree
14-36(a) - Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License
14-100a(c)(1) - Failure to Wear a Safety Seat Belt
14-222 - Reckless Driving
14-227 - Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs
14-236 - Failure to Drive in Proper Lane
The teen was released from custody on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at New Haven Juvenile Court on 4/24/2025.
