West Haven Man Faces Charges in 2025 Fatal Crash in Somers

On 11/07/2025, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Troopers responded to the area of Sunset Drive and Main Street in the Town of Somers to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision.
On 10/22/2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m., Donald Chairamonte turned himself in to Connecticut State Police, Troop C in Tolland, after being advised of an active warrant for his arrest. The accused was taken into custody and charged with the following violations:
C.G.S. 14-222a, Negligent Homicide w/ Motor Vehicle
C.G.S. 14-247, Failure to Grant Right of Way
Following arrest processing, Chairamonte was released on a Promise to Appear, ordered by a Rockville Superior Court. Chairamonte is scheduled for arraignment at Rockville Superior Court, on 11/03/2026.
