Preliminary reports show that on 08/14/2021, at approximately 7:32pm, Troop K - Colchester, received reports of a stabbing on a bike trail, located on Hilltop Drive, in the Town of Windham. Upon arrival to the scene, responding Troopers located the victim, a juvenile female (age 12), who had sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Further investigation revealed this incident stemmed from an ongoing conflict between the juvenile victim and the accused, also a juvenile female (age 13). The accused juvenile was located, detained without incident, and a knife was recovered at the scene. As a result of this investigation, both parties were issued juvenile summonses. The victim was charged with C.G.S. 53a-181 Breach of Peace. The accused was charged with C.G.S. 53a-181 Breach of Peace and C.G.S. 53a-60 Assault in the Second Degree. Both juveniles were released to their respective guardians.
