Preliminary information indicates that on 04/18/2024, at approximately 6:17 p.m., Colchester Police responded to a disturbance at an address on Norwich Ave in Colchester, Connecticut.
Shortly after arriving at the address, investigators made contact with an individual. A Colchester Police Officer at the scene discharged their duty weapon at the individual, causing injury. No other persons in the surrounding area were injured.
EMS responded to the address and the individual was transported to an area hospital for injuries. One Officer was also transported for evaluation.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
This is an ongoing investigation led by the Office of the Inspector General, assisted by detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad and Troop K.
