Media Advisory- Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Targeted Violence Prevention Program

The Connecticut State Police is pleased to announce our partners in law enforcement, the FDLE, will be conducting training in Connecticut this week at the Connecticut Police Academy, 285 Preston Ave Meriden, CT. FDLE’s Targeted Violence Prevention Program (TVPP) is designed to provide a strong foundation in behavioral based threat assessment and management. This training will provide a holistic approach to conducting threat assessments and implementing behavioral management plans while utilizing a multi-disciplinary team of law enforcement, mental health, and social work professionals. This program provides 24 hours of instruction through lecture, tabletop discussions and role-playing exercises to expose attendees to foundational concepts as well as applications of threat assessment and management. Members of the media interested in covering this training event are welcome to attend on Tuesday, 09/10/24 at 2:30 PM. The Deputy Commissioner of FDLE will be present and available for interview opportunities.
