On Thursday, 11/03/2022, members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and Violent Crimes Task Force conducted a domestic highway enforcement operation in the greater Hartford area, with a focus on narcotics interdiction, specifically opiates
Detectives observed a male, later identified as, Moses Rodriguez, DOB 05/17/1987, of 35 Marion St. of Hartford, participate in a suspected narcotics transaction and initiated a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle Rodriguez was operating, on Brainard Road, in Hartford. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 30 grams of "Purple" Fentanyl, $2,301.00 in cash, a fully loaded Glock 9mm pistol with a 15-round high capacity magazine, as well as other items consistent with the packaging and sale of narcotics. Based upon these findings, Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to Troop H in Hartford, where he was processed and charged with the following:

C.G.S. 53a-217 Criminal Possession of a Firearm/Ammo/Defense Weapon
Rodriguez was released on a $500,000.00 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Hartford Superior Court on 11/17/2022.
