Detectives Seek Information in Attempted Armed Robbery in Griswold

On Friday, 12/30/2022 at approximately 6:22 PM, Troop E in Montville responded to JC Spirits, located at 63 Main Street, in Jewett City, for a report of an attempted armed robbery. No injuries were reported. Responding Troopers learned that the suspect depicted in the security image below allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded money, but eventually left the store without obtaining any money or merchandise. The white male suspect was described as wearing a black mask, a black Nike sweatshirt, black pants, and gray and orange gloves. The Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jette at (860)848-6532.
