*UPDATE* Skeletal Remains Discovered in Woods on Harwinton/Northfield Town Line

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, State Police responded to a wooded area located off Campville Road, on the Harwinton/Northfield (Litchfield) town line, where skeletal remains were found. Shortly thereafter, the investigation was assumed by the Western District Major Crime Squad (WDMCS). On Thursday February 3, 2022, WDMCS was advised by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) that the remains had been positively identified through dental records as Brianna Beam, DOB 10/08/2001, who was known to have ties to the Waterbury, Thomaston and Bristol areas, as well as the State of Rhode Island. The investigation into this incident is open and ongoing. Anyone with information related to this matter is asked to contact the lead investigator, Det.
