Troopers Investigate Snow Mobile Accident At Sun Valley Resort in Stafford

On Wednesday, 01/22/25 at approximately 3:23 PM, personnel from Troop C- Tolland and Stafford Police responded to Sun Valley Resort at 51 Old Springfield Rd in Stafford for a reported snow mobile accident with injuries.


Upon arrival on scene, it was learned that the operator of the snow mobile was ejected and sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. The operator was transported via EMS ground to Johnson Memorial Hospital and subsequently flown via Life Star to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. The operator was positively identified as Jamie Gallicchio (DOB 08/02/76), of Ellington. Gallicchio later succumbed to her injuries at St. Francis and was pronounced deceased at approximately 6:52 PM. Gallicchio's next of kin was notified. Gallicchio's passenger, positively identified as David Rusiecki (DOB 04/04/79), of West Springfield, MA, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment on scene.


At this time, there are no known witnesses to this incident other than the passenger.
