Troopers Investigate Fatal Ultralight Glider Accident in Deep River

On Friday March 14, 2025, at approximately 4:15 PM, Troopers from Troop F - Westbrook responded alongside the local Fire Department to the area of Cedar Lake Rd in the Town of Deep River for a reported small glider that had crashed into the woods.


Once on scene, Troopers located the Single Engine Ultralight Glider in the woods and identified the pilot as Bradley Daar (DOB 10/08/1954) of Clinton. Daar was transported by LifeStar to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.


The Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, and Connecticut Airport Authority were advised of this incident. The Connecticut State Police will be retaining this investigation.
