State Police Investigate Skeletal Remains Discovered in Woods on Harwinton/Northfield Town Line


On Sunday, 12/19/2021, at approximately 3:05 PM, Troop L in Litchfield was contacted by an individual who reported finding what they believed to be skeletal remains, while walking their dog in the woods in the area of Campville Road, on the Harwinton/Northfield (Litchfield) town line. Troop L Troopers responded to the scene and located skeletal remains in a wooded area, approximately 100 feet off the roadway. Western District Major Crime Detectives, State Police Search and Rescue, and CT DEEP responded to the scene and conducted a detailed search of the area. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) responded to the scene and the skeletal remains were transported to the OCME for further examination. This investigation is active and ongoing.
