Plainfield Woman Arrested Following Home Invasion, Assault in Killingly

On Sunday, 06/15/25 at approximately 4:10 AM, personnel from Troop D- Danielson responded to a residence on Church St in Killingly for a reported break-in and physical assault.


Upon arrival on scene, Troopers spoke with the victim who reported that Giana Garcia (DOB 03/25/98), of Plainfield, had shown up at her apartment and forced entry. The victim reported that Garcia had struck her in the head with brass knuckles several times, causing injuries and pain to the victim. The victim was later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.


On scene investigation later revealed that Garcia believed the victim had a relationship with her husband, prompting the assault. Furthermore, the victim explained that as Garcia arrived at the residence, she collided with the victim's vehicle causing damage to the rear bumper. Garcia then assaulted the victim and left the scene. Troopers were unable to locate Garcia, when she later arrived at Troop D to turn herself in.


Garcia was arrested without incident and charged with the following:

C.G.S. 14-224(b)(3) - Evading Responsibility


C.G.S. 53-206 - Carrying a Dangerous Weapon


C.G.S. 53a-100aa - Home Invasion


C.G.S. 53a-101(a)(3) - Burglary in the First Degree at Nighttime


C.G.S. 53a-117 - Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree


C.G.S. 53a-181 - Breach of Peace in the Second Degree


C.G.S. 53a-60(a)(2) - Assault in the Second Degree with a Weapon


C.G.S. 53a-62(a(1 - Threatening in the Second Degree


C.G.S. 53a-63 - Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree


Garcia was later released on a $15,000 bond, awaiting arraignment on 06/27/2025 at Danielson Superior Court.
