Major Crime Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death in Redding

On 02/18/2024, at 9:27 a.m., at the request of the Danbury State’s Attorney’s Office, members of the CT State Police Western District Major Crime Squad at Troop A Southbury were requested to investigate a suspicious death in the town of Redding.

The Redding Police Department received a 911 call from a jogger on Route 53 (Glen Road) who reported finding a deceased person.

The deceased female, positively identified as Leah Chaparro, DOB 08/11/97, of Bridgeport, was located in a wooded area off of Route 53. WDMC Detectives are actively investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding Chaparro’s death.
