Major Crime Detectives Investigate Assault/Robbery in Southbury

On Tuesday, 08/09/2022, approximately 12:33 PM, Southbury Police received a 911 call from an individual stating that she had been approached by 2 males in the roadway, who requested that she dial 911 for them. Responding officers found one of the males to be suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. The injured male was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives were immediately requested and assumed the investigation. Detectives learned that the victims had been working construction at a residence on Bucks Hill Road, in Southbury, when two males allegedly entered the residence, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife. The victims reported that they were restrained, assaulted, and robbed by the two men. Detectives have determined that the suspects are known to one of the victims. This is believed to be a targeted, isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is active, and this is all of the information available for release at this time.
