On 6/14/2025 at approximately 1:02 PM, Troopers from Troop H - Hartford were dispatched to investigate a traffic collision that had occurred on the RT 2 east, exit 3 off ramp in the City of East Hartford. Troopers were advised that one "911" caller stated he was involved in the collision, and the other party had physically pushed him, threatened him with use of a firearm, and left the scene.
The victim explained that the suspect vehicle was traveling very close to their rear bumper, attempted to pass them on the right and hit their brakes. This forced the victim to brake in an attempt to avoid a collision, however, struck the suspect vehicle from behind.
Both vehicles then pulled over, and the suspect began yelling and walking towards the victim. The suspect then physically pushed the victim, causing them to fall backwards to the ground. The victim explained that this caused pain but refused further treatment.
Troopers met with the suspect, who was later identified as Shicorey Johnson-Harris (DOB 07/19/1998) of Hartford. Johnson-Harris refused to give any statement and was later placed under arrest without incident.
Johnson-Harris was transported to Troop H for processing where he was charged with the following:
C.G.S. 14-222 - Reckless Driving
C.G.S. 53a-61a - Assault in the Third Degree on an Elderly Victim
C.G.S. 53a-61aa - Threatening in the First Degree
Johnson-Harris was later released on a $5,000 bond, awaiting arraignment on 06/30/2025 at Manchester Superior Court.
