Fatal Motorcycle Accident on I-691 in Meriden

On Saturday, August 28, 2021 at approximately 5:36 p.m., Troopers assigned to Troop I-Bethany were dispatched to the area of Interstate 691 Westbound, West of the Exit 5 Entrance ramp in the City of Meriden for the report of a motorcycle accident which resulted in fatal injuries.
Meriden Fire Department personnel were on scene assisting in life saving efforts. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Jonathan Santiago (D.O.B: 03-23-1984) of Bristol, CT. Santiago was transported to Waterbury hospital via ambulance and was pronounced by hospital staff.
The State Police-Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad (C.A.R.S.) responded to the scene to assist with this investigation.
