Troopers Shut Down Street Takeover Event on I-95 Between New Haven & Milford

On Sunday, 01/12/25 at approximately 3:34 PM, personnel from Troop G-Bridgeport were actively monitoring a Palestinian demonstration conducted by a large group of vehicles. This demonstration began on Long Wharf Drive in the city of New Haven. As the group began to move from Long Wharf Drive, Troop G personnel observed them enter I-95 southbound via exit 46. It was at this time that the group was observed to be impeding traffic, bringing their vehicles to a complete stop across all lanes and exiting onto the highway on foot. As Troopers were responding to the area, the group continued south on I-95 at a slow rate of speed across the lanes. As Troopers began to intervene with the group, multiple vehicles were successfully stopped, and leaders of the demonstration were identified as the following:

Ahmed Khatib (DOB 10/29/92), of Palisades, NJ.

Abias Azmain (DOB 12/13/2001), of Hamden.

Mohammed Shaham (DOB 05/28/2003), of Fairfield.

Muhsen Youssef (DOB 08/06/2004), 0f Shelton.

Each of the above named individuals were issued a misdemeanor summons for violation C.G.S. 14-224(C(2(D); Knowingly Inciting a Street Race/Takeover. All four are scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on various dates in February 2025.
