The figures presented here were generated on December 2, 2024, reflecting recent updates to the State Police data collection methods. These statistics offer a more accurate snapshot of State Police activity on Connecticut’s roadways during the Thanksgiving weekend. As a division of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the Connecticut State Police remain committed to providing the public with accurate data, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The Connecticut State Police remain committed to prioritizing road safety. This Thanksgiving holiday, we have stopped over 200 more vehicles and issued more than 200 additional speeding violations compared to the same period last year. These efforts support the Fatal Mitigation Initiative launched in March of this year. We will continue working diligently to make Connecticut's roadways safer for all our communities.
