State Trooper Uninjured After Vehicle Struck on I-91 in East Windsor - A Reminder to Slow Down, Move Over

Your CT State Troopers remind all drivers to Slow Down and Move Over for all stationary vehicles. Fortunately, Trooper Clark was outside his vehicle and unharmed when his cruiser was struck during an accident investigation on Dec. 18.

Please, Slow Down and Mover Over whenever you see a stationary vehicle so that everyone arrives at their destination safely.

If you are in an accident or your vehicle has become disabled on the highway, please follow these safety tips:

  • Use hazard lights to make your vehicle visible.

  • Most vehicles can be driven to the right shoulder, even with a mechanical issue or a flat tire. Never stop your vehicle in a travel lane unless it is truly undriveable.

  • Stay in your vehicle with your seatbelt on, as it is the safest place to be.

  • If you cannot stay in your vehicle due to fire, find a safe spot away from your vehicle, travel lanes & oncoming traffic

  • The highway is NOT a safe place to fill your tank or repair your car; call 911 and wait for police to respond to your vehicle.
