State Trooper Sustains Minor Injury Following Cruiser Strike on I-91 in Wallingford by Impaired Driver

On Dec. 19, 2025, the cruiser of a State Trooper was struck by a driver who was later found to be operating under the influence. The CSP cruiser had its lights on and was in the left lane of I-91 south in Wallingford investigating an earlier accident when the accused struck the cruiser.
The driver is now facing charges that include operating under the influence and failure to move over for a stationary vehicle, and the State Trooper sustained injuries.
