State Police Troopers Earn Multiple Awards at National Trooper Competition in Texas




Two Connecticut State Police Troopers proudly represented the state of Connecticut at the National Top Trooper Competition hosted by the Texas Department of Public Safety this past week. Together, the team brought home multiple awards against a field of elite Troopers from 15 states.


Together, the pair achieved a 3rd place finish in the team challenge, showcasing the strength, skill, and professionalism of the Connecticut State Police on the national stage.


Sergeant Christopher Valente of Troop F - Westbrook, placed 1st in an emergency vehicle operations event, and secured 3rd place overall in the male Trooper competition.


Trooper Sierra Thibault of Troop L - Litchfield, earned 1st place in the interview portion of the competition, highlighting her exemplary communication and leadership skills.


The National Top Trooper Competition brings together top-performing law enforcement officers for a series of events testing physical endurance, technical driving, decision-making, and professional knowledge.
