State Police K-9 Locates Fleeing Domestic Violence Suspect in Harwinton

On December 14, 2021, at approximately 7:13 PM, State Police at Troop L in Litchfield were advised of a possible domestic violence incident at a residence in the town of Harwinton. Responding Troopers were advised that the accused had made threatening statements toward the caller and had thrown a machete style knife at them. The knife did not make contact with the caller but caused them to fear for their safety and that of other occupants inside of the residence. Following the incident, the accused had walked away from the residence and into a wooded area. TFC Kenney and his assigned K-9 partner, Chase, began a track in the woods surrounding the residence and located the accused a short time later. The accused, who declined to be interviewed, was taken into custody and transported to Troop L for processing on the following charges:

C.G.S. 53a-62 Threatening in the Second Degree

C.G.S. 53a-63 Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree

C.G.S. 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct

The accused was held on a $20,000.00 bond and scheduled to

appear at the Torrington Superior Court on December 15, 2021.
