State Police Detectives Investigating Meriden Domestic Violence Homicide

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 10 a.m., Meriden Police responded to a domestic violence incident on Sagamore Road in Meriden. An individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. A Meriden police officer used a duty weapon to shoot the suspect.

The Office of the Inspector General is investigating the officer-involved shooting. The Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Unit is investigating the homicide related to the domestic violence incident. Due to the nature of the initial domestic violence call, victim and suspect information cannot be released at this time.
