State Police 246th Patrol K9 Class Graduates

The Connecticut State Police proudly announces the graduation of the most advanced patrol canine teams, who are now ready to serve and protect our communities with unwavering dedication and skill.  This highly anticipated graduation marks an important milestone in enhancing public safety in the State of Connecticut.


The Connecticut State Police 246th Patrol K9 Class graduates completed an intensive and rigorous 16-week training program in their pursuit of excellence.  The nine graduating canine teams have successfully completed an extensive curriculum that encompasses a wide range of skills including locating missing family members, locating critical evidence during investigations, crucial support to law enforcement officers, and community engagement. 


As we welcome these exceptional canine teams into active service, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the trainers, handlers, and all those involved in their support and training. 


The graduating canine teams are: 

1.     Orange Police Dept: Officer Ashley Cavanaugh and K9 Beau

2.     Naugatuck Police Dept: Officer Michael Gigliotti and K9 Hardy

3.     Troop G: Trooper Anthony Jacabacci and K9 Gatti

4.     Troop D: Trooper Abigail O’Connor and K9 Falco

5.     Troop K: Trooper Noah Blanchette and K9 Ghost

6.     East Hampton Police Dept: Officer Steven Wawruck and K9 Heros

7.     Greenwich Police Dept: Officer Jeff Franco and K9 Arrow

8.     Troop E: Trooper Xavier Crawford and K9 Vader

9.     CT State Police K9 Unit: TFC Gregory Fascendini and K9 Valor
