Media Advisory- Calling Hours and Funeral Services for Yale Police Officer Gregory Swiantek ***UPDATE***

In collaboration with the Yale Police Department, the Connecticut State Police Media Relations Unit announces the calling hours and funeral services for Officer Gregory Swiantek. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at the East Haven Funeral Home, 425 Main St. East Haven, CT. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at the Toyota Oakdale Theater, 95 South Turnpike Rd. Wallingford, CT.

Members of the public who wish to attend the calling hours or the funeral service will be directed where to park upon arrival.

***Media staging area for calling hours will be at Pardee Place Extension in East Haven from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM. Media staging area for the funeral will be within the first parking lot to the left of the main entrance of the Toyota Oakdale Theater. The staging area will consist of ample parking spaces and the island area between the parking lot and main entrance driveway. Please reference the attached map.***

Bags/purses larger than 12''x 12'' will not be permitted. Any bags/purses carried into the venue will be subject to security checks. There will be designated tables outside of the venue for anyone wishing to leave gifts or flowers.

Members of the media attending the funeral may unload equipment and park at the designated staging area. Media cameras are NOT permitted inside the venue at the request of the family. There will be no interviews with family members or sworn personnel, with the exception of Chief Campbell. Chief Campbell will be available for interviews following the service. In addition, NO drones will be allowed to fly over the venue or the general vicinity.

Law enforcement attending the funeral will also be given parking instructions upon arrival. Law enforcement members are required to show official credentials. Once the venue is filled, no others will be permitted admittance. ***At the request of the family, the ceremony will not be livestreamed.***

Officer Swiantek and his family will be led by police procession to and from the venue. Media staging areas for the procession will be at the following overpasses:

1- Townsend avenue over I-95 in New Haven

2- Route 40 over I-91 in North Haven

3- Route 5 Over I-91 in North Haven

4- Bassett Road Over I-91 in North Haven
