On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at approximately 4:17 PM, Troop C received a 9-1-1 call from a female explaining that an unknown Hispanic male placed an infant, on the hood of her parked vehicle, located on Pleasant Valley Road, in Mansfield. The female reported as she returned to her vehicle, the male got into a dark colored vehicle and fled the area. The infant was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later determined to be a 28-30 week old premature newborn. The infant is currently listed in stable condition.
Eastern District Major Crime responded and assumed this ongoing investigation. The male was described as Hispanic, heavy set with short black hair, wearing a black long sleeved t-shirt and black jogger style pants.
