East Hartford Man Arrested for Engaging in Pursuit After Fleeing July Traffic Stop in Vernon

On July 18th, 2025, a White Infiniti eluded State Police from an attempted traffic stop on Talcottville Road (Rt 83) in the Town of Vernon. The operator was endangering numerous other motorists lives as it fled State Police at a high rate of speed.
After an investigation, with assistance from the Vernon Police Department, an arrest warrant was applied for and granted for the suspected operator, identified as Erick Resto (DOB 10/24/2003) of East Hartford.
On December 1st, 2025, Resto turned himself in at Troop C for the active arrest warrant. Resto was placed under arrest without incident and charged with the following:
C.G.S.14-18(a) - Failure to Display Plates
C.G.S. 14-222 Reckless Driving
C.G.S. 14-233(b)** - Engaging Police in Pursuit
C.G.S. 14-235 - Failure to Keep Right
C.G.S. 14-99g(g) - Illegal Tint
C.G.S. 53a-64 - Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree
Resto was later released on a $10,000 bond and is due to appear at Rockville Superior Court on 12/16/2025.
