Cheshire I-84 Shooting Investigation Update

Preliminary reports show that Troopers assigned to Troop A-Southbury were dispatched to the area of Interstate 84 Westbound, exit 26 near the Waterbury/Cheshire town line for reports of a shooting early this morning (06/25/2021).


Detectives from the Connecticut State Police - Western District Major Crimes Squad (WDMCS) were requested to respond to the scene.


The victim has since been transported to an area hospital. Injuries were sustained; however, the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.


We are currently searching for a male suspect at this time. The male is believed to be armed and dangerous. We are currently working in collaboration with Wolcott and Southington Police Departments. There is a search being conducted in the area of Rogers Orchards. A reverse 911 was conducted to the residents in the area. We ask everyone to please avoid the area if possible.


The scene is still active, fluid and ongoing. Once we receive more information we will disseminate it accordingly.
