Holiday Travel & Traffic Safety The holidays are one of the busiest travel periods of the year on Connecticut roadways. Increased traffic means a higher risk of crashes , especially during peak travel times. Plan ahead, allow extra time, and expect delays during holiday weekends. Drive Smart, Drive Safe Slow down and obey posted speed limits. Maintain a safe following distance: Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the one ahead to allow for longer stopping time

State Trooper Sustains Minor Injury Following Cruiser Strike on I-91 in Wallingford by Impaired Driver
Please plan ahead and designate a driver! On Dec. 19, 2025, the cruiser of a State Trooper was struck by a driver who was later found to be operating under the influence.
