Wrong Way Driver Evades Trooper, We Need Your Assistance

On 1/15/23 at approximately 0245hrs, Troop H received several 911 calls reporting a wrong way vehicle driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-91 in the area of Exit 33. While Tpr. Cerri #525 was responding and heading south on I-91, the wrong way vehicle appeared in front of him, traveling north in the HOV lane. Tpr. Cerri attempted to take evasive action utilizing his cruiser, contacting the driver’s side of the wrong way vehicle. The vehicle continued north across the highway exiting the Exit 35 HOV on ramp. No license plate was obtained from the vehicle and its described as a dark colored 4 door sedan with driver’s side damage. If anyone witnessed the wrong way vehicle and/or recognizes the suspect vehicle or Operator, please contact Troop H in Hartford at (860) 534-1000. All calls will be kept anonymous.
