On October 5, 2025, at approximately 2:38pm, personnel from Troop C responded to Mansfield Hollow Lake after the Mansfield Fire Department discovered human remains floating in the water. Fire personnel recovered the remains onto a department boat. The Eastern District Major Crime Squad (EDMC) was notified and assumed the investigation. Please see the updated press release concerning the serious injury collision on Route 15 in New Canaan. This investigation is now a fatal motor vehicle collision.

On November 12, 2025, Troopers from Troop H - Hartford observed a silver Nissan Altima driving southbound on I-91 prior to Exit 27. The vehicle was observed operating erratically, at slow speeds, and a registration inquiry indicated that the registration plate was misused and canceled.
