On Saturday, 03/29/25, at approximately 5:25 AM, personnel from Troop H- Hartford were dispatched to the CT Fastrack Sigourney Street station in Hartford for a reported fire. Upon arrival, heavy black smoke was observed coming from the vestibule area of the station with a wooden bench in the vestibule actively smoldering.

Once the scene was rendered safe, Troopers began to investigate the cause and origin of the fire. There were several bystanders who stopped to speak with Troopers and inquire about what happened, but soon after carried on. One individual in particular stood out to investigators as he remained on scene observing the damage longer than any other bystanders at the station.

CT Fastrack personnel later advised Troop H that the damage caused by the fire in the vestibule was estimated to require up to $13,000 in repairs. Investigative efforts continued throughout the day on 03/29/25, to include reviewing surveillance footage from the Fastrack station at the time of the incident. Troopers located a suspect at this time, and it was determined that the suspect captured on camera at the time of the fire matched the individual who stood out while on scene earlier in the day.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, 03/30/25, the same individual was observed on surveillance cameras at the Kane Street Fastrack station in Hartford. Troopers responded and located the suspect at approximately 12:21 AM and he was detained without incident. The suspect was positively identified as Aaron Davis (DOB 03/05/81), of West Hartford. Davis was found to be in possession of two butane torches, and he later admitted to starting the fire at the Sigourney Street station. Davis was arrested and transported to Troop H, where he was processed on the following charges:

CGS 53a-113; Arson 3rd Degree

CGS 53a-115; Criminal Mischief 1st Degree

Davis was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Hartford Superior Court on 03/31/25. Please see the attached photos and criminal information summary.
