Updated: Feb 4

On Friday, February 2, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Troop H personnel were dispatched to Route 2 eastbound in the area of Exit 11 in Glastonbury for a report of a wrong way driver. As Troopers were responding to the area, it was reported that the vehicle traveling the wrong way had been involved in a collision, striking another vehicle head-on.

At the scene, Terrance Green, DOB 08/18/1978, of Plainville was identified as the operator of the vehicle accused of traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. Troopers observed Green to be exhibiting signs of possible impairment and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, which Green did not perform to standard.

Based upon the information obtained during the on-scene investigation, Green was taken into custody and transported to Troop H in Hartford, where he was processed and charged with the following violations:

C.G.S. 14-227a, Operating Under the Influence

C.G.S. 14-222, Reckless Driving

C.G.S. 14-237, Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway

C.G.S. 53a-64, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree

During arrest processing, Green refused to provide fingerprints, resulting in an additional charge of C.G.S. 29-17, Failure to Provide Fingerprints.

Green was later released on $5000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Manchester Superior Court, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
