Troopers Arrest Man Accused of Operating Remote-Controlled Car on the Highway, in Berlin
On Saturday, 07/16/2022, at approximately 7:00 AM, Troop H in Hartford received multiple reports of a pedestrian operating a remote-controlled car on Route 9 in the New Britain/Berlin area. Callers reported a male pedestrian running across the northbound lanes of travel onto the southbound lanes, operating a remote-controlled car. A responding Trooper located and approached an occupied vehicle, parked on the RT 372 westbound entrance ramp to Route 9, in the town of Berlin, and observed a remote-controlled car within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The male occupant of the vehicle was positively identified as Leonard Kroher, DOB 05/18/1973, of 136 Broad Street Apt A, Meriden, CT 06450. As a result of this investigation, Kroher was taken into custody, transported to Troop H, and charged with the following:

C.G.S. 53-182 Reckless Use of Highway by a Pedestrian
C.G.S. 14-251 Improper Parking
Kroher was released on a $5,000.00 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at New Britain Superior Court, on 08/19/2022.
