Suspects Captured in Multi Agency Search After Attempted Burglary in Norwich

At approximately 3:27 am on Monday, May 8, Norwich police department received an ATM Alarm call from a local bank. A suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area, entering I-395 south. Troopers from Troop E-Montville and Troop K-Colchester followed the vehicle, which eventually traveled on Route 2 and I-91. The suspect vehicle traveled the wrong way on the Northbound I-91 exit 26 off-ramp and eventually stopped, with two occupants fleeing the scene on foot.


Members of Rocky Hill Police Department, Wethersfield Police Department, CSP Troop H and Troop K established a perimeter. Additional resources utilized during the multi-hour search for the suspects included K9 teams, the CSP Aviation Unit utilizing a fixed wing airwing and drones. K9 Teams tracked for approximately 10 miles over the course of several hours this morning.


An off-duty Rocky Hill Sergeant observed the suspects walking near Old Main Street in Rocky Hill. The two suspects were taken into custody without incident or injuries to either the suspects or police personnel on scene.


The suspects are identified as Mark Francis Chee-You (CHEE YOU) DOB: 7/22/98 and Euris Tejada (DOB 12/27/92). Both suspects have extensive criminal histories. The suspects were transported to Troop H for arrest processing.


Although the scene is safe and secure, the investigation is ongoing and more charges will be forthcoming from Norwich Police Department. There is no threat to the public. This incident is an example of a complex, multi-jurisdictional investigation in which agencies collaborated to find and arrest suspects.
