Stamford Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop and Nearly Striking Trooper on I-95 in Bridgeport

On Saturday, 11/09/2024 at approximately 4:15 PM, a Trooper assigned to Troop G- Bridgeport was on-duty patrolling the area of Kings Highway in Fairfield when they observed a blue Dodge Charger displaying South Carolina plates parked at a local gas station. The Trooper recognized the vehicle from a prior encounter and was aware that its registered owner had an active arrest warrant issued by Troop G.


With this knowledge, the Trooper requested another unit respond to their location. Once a backup unit arrived, Troopers approached the vehicle and found it to be unoccupied. They then proceeded into the gas station, where they successfully located the registered owner, Howard Charles Parker (DOB: 02/24/1995) of Stamford. Parker was subsequently arrested on the strength of the arrest warrant stemming from an incident which occurred on 09/04/2024. Parker was ultimately transported to Troop G for processing where he was charged with the following violations:


C.G.S. 14-222; Reckless Driving


C.G.S. 14-223(a): Disobeying the Signal of an Officer


C.G.S. 53a-167a; Interfering with an Officer


C.G.S. 53a-64; Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree


Following arrest processing, Parker was released on a $20,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Bridgeport Superior Court on 12/09/2024.
