On November 27, 2024, at approximately 0520 hours, Troopers from Troop D – Danielson were dispatched to a local business located on Providence Turnpike in Brooklyn for a report of an active larceny. The complainant reported observing individuals in a white van bearing a temporary New Jersey registration plate taking cooking oil from local businesses and restaurants.
After observing the theft of oil, the complainant followed the van to a parking lot and updated Troop D Dispatch of the van’s location. Troopers arrived shortly thereafter and located the van which was occupied by two males. Troopers learned that the males had taken approximately 135 gallons of cooking oil from three local businesses. All business owners were contacted and confirmed that the males were not given permission to be on their property, nor authorized to take any of the cooking oil.
