Man Extradited, Charged With Criminal Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Following Montville Police Investigation

In July of 2021, Officers from the Montville Police Department in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Montville Resident Trooper Program, initiated an investigation into the allegations of an attempted sexual assault and risk of injury of two juveniles in the in town of Montville.

After a thorough and extensive investigation, Detective Saffioti of the Montville Police Department applied for and was granted a felony arrest warrant charging the accused, Carlos Davila, DOB 07/03/2002, of Montville, with violating C.G.S. 53a-49/53a-71, Criminal Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault in the Second Degree and two counts of C.G.S. 53a-21, Risk of Injury to a Minor.

Davila subsequently fled the State of Connecticut and was ultimately located in Massachusetts, where he was arrested and sentenced on unrelated charges in their State.

On May 15, 2024, Troopers assigned to Connecticut State Police Troop E - Montville, traveled to the Franklin County Massachusetts House of Correction and extradited Davila back to Connecticut, were he was charged with violating the above Connecticut General Statutes.

Davila was unable to post the $150,000 court-set surety bond and was surrendered to the Corrigan Correctional Center, pending his scheduled arraignment at the Norwich Superior Courthouse, on 05/16/2024.
