On 01/26/2024, at approximately 9:28 p.m., personnel from Troop K responded to the Gulf Mart convenience store, located at 738 Middletown Road in the town of Colchester, for a reported armed robbery. Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad also responded to the scene and the criminal investigation that followed resulted in an arrest warrant being approved for the accused, Daniel Reardon, DOB: 05/15/1988, of Broad Brook, CT.
On 01/27/2024, at approximately 8:59 p.m., Troopers assigned to Troop H in Hartford located a red, 2011 Ford Ranger pickup truck on Main Street in Glastonbury, which members of law enforcement had connected to separate incidents in the area involving an individual consistent in appearance with the suspect depicted in security footage from the Gulf Mart convenience store. At the scene, Troopers located and detained Daniel Reardon, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and was uncooperative during the on-scene investigation. Reardon was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Troop K where he was processed and charged with the following violations:
C.G.S. 21a-267(a), Use Of Drug Paraphernalia (4 Counts)
C.G.S. 53a-167a, Interfering With an Officer/Resisting
Reardon was held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Manchester Superior Court, on 01/29/2024.
On 01/30/2024, at approximately 10:16 a.m., personnel from Troop K in Colchester took Reardon into custody at the Hartford Correctional Center, based upon the active warrant for his arrest. Reardon was transported to the Troop K barracks, where the arrest warrant was served, charging him with the following violations:
C.G.S. 53a-134, Robbery in the 1st Degree
C.G.S. 53a-124, Larceny in the 3rd Degree
C.G.S. 53a-181, Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree
During arrest processing, Reardon refused to have his fingerprints taken and was additionally charged with violating C.G.S. 29-12, Failure to Comply with Fingerprint Request.
Reardon was held on a court set $150,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Norwich Superior Court, on 01/31/2024.
