Bristol Man Under Arrest Following Armed Road Rage on I-95 in Old Saybrook

On 06/20/24 at approximately 6:20 PM, personnel from Troop F-Westbrook were dispatched for a reported road rage incident on I-95 southbound in Old Saybrook, which reportedly involved the display of a firearm. The victims reported repeated brake-checking and abrupt lane changes from the accused's vehicle. The operator of the victim vehicle reported that the accused's vehicle then pulled alongside them on the left side, at which point they observed the operator pointing a firearm towards them through the open passenger side window. The victims obtained identifying information of the accused operator, to include vehicle description, license plate, the driver's descriptors and a description of the firearm he brandished.

Passengers within the victim vehicle attempted to obtain photographs, and the accused operator subsequently accelerated out of view. Both vehicles had exited I-95 to Route 9 north at this point in time. Given the descriptors provided, Troopers were stationed further north on Route 9 and located the accused's vehicle shortly thereafter. Troopers stopped the accused on Route 9 in Middletown, where the accused was identified as Dejon Robinson (DOB 11/19/93). Based off of statements provided by the victims, Robinson was positively identified as the accused. A firearm matching the description provided by the victims was also recovered from Robinson's vehicle, which was registered to Robinson. Robinson had passengers in his own vehicle, which included juveniles. Robinson was arrested without incident and transported to Troop F for processing. Robinson was charged with violation CGS 53-21; Risk of Injury to a Minor (3 counts), 53a-181; Breach of Peace 2nd Degree (4 counts), 53a-61aa(a)(3); Threatening 1st Degree with a Firearm (4 counts) and 53a-63; Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree (4 counts). Robinson was later released from custody on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on July 2nd, 2024.
