12/09/22 - Weapons Discovered at East Granby Elementary School

On 12/09/2022, at approximately 11:32 AM, Troopers and East Granby Officers responded to the Carl Allgrove Elementary School to investigate a report of a juvenile student in possession of weapons. School staff had discovered the weapons in the student’s belongings and immediately secured them. No injuries were reported and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The weapons, two handguns, were seized and through investigation, it was determined that they were owned by Kenneth Pariaug, DOB 05/21/1990, of East Granby. Following a thorough on-scene investigation Pariaug was taken into custody, transported to Troop H in Hartford for processing and charged with the following:

C.G.S. 53a-63 Reckless Endangerment

C.G.S. 53-21 Risk of Injury to a Minor

Pariaug was later released on a $10,000.00 surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Hartford Superior Court, on 12/22/2022.
