11/21/22 - State Police Investigate Alleged Stabbing at the New Britain Fastrak Station
On Monday, November 21, 2022, at approximately 2:19 PM, Troop H personnel were advised by New Britain Police of an assault at the Downtown New Britain
CT Fastrak Station, in the city of New Britain.
Prior to State Police arrival, New Britain Police located the involved parties and detained the accused, later identified as Joseph Falcon, DOB 05/24/1999, of 57 Huntington St. FL 2, in Hartford. New Britain Officers located a pocket knife and approximately 193 packets of suspected fentanyl during a safety pat down of Falcon, which were turned over to troopers and seized as evidence. Both Falcon and one adult male victim were transported to New Britain General Hospital by ambulance, with minor injuries.
Troopers conducted an on-scene investigation and spoke with the victim and Falcon at New Britain General Hospital. The victim explained to investigators that he had been at the New Britain Fastrak Station with a group of people when Falcon, who was not known to the group, approached them and joined their conversation. According to the victim, Falcon’s behavior made him uncomfortable, and Falcon was asked to leave multiple times. The victim alleged that Falcon became verbally aggressive, making threats and causing the victim to fear for his and the group’s safety. Falcon then displayed a knife and allegedly charged at the victim several times before stabbing him in the back and causing minor injuries.
After receiving medical treatment, Falcon was transported to Troop H, where he was processed and charged with the following:
C.G.S. 53a-181 Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
C.G.S. 53a-60 Assault 2nd Degree
